AIRWORTHY Documentary Premiere Lands in Orlando June 4

The Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) will host a special red carpet premiere event for the new feature documentary Airworthy on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at AIM’s AMO Campus in Orlando, Florida, ahead of the film’s national streaming release on Tubi, Roku, and Kanopy.

Following strong audience response at its Chicago debut, Airworthy arrives in Orlando as a powerful and timely story offering a rare behind-the-scenes look into the world of aviation maintenance training.

Produced by award-winning production company Auroris Media, Airworthy follows aspiring aircraft mechanics from Chicago’s South Side as they pursue careers in one of the most male-dominated industries in America, where women represent less than 3% of certified aviation maintenance technicians. At the center of the story is United Airlines’ groundbreaking all-female maintenance team, “The Chix Fix,” whose mentorship helps inspire and guide the next generation entering the field.

Following the screening, a live panel discussion moderated by Airworthy producer Stephen Peek will feature AIM student Maddison Williams, Airworthy director Maria Peek, and Laura Spolar, captain of United Airlines’ Chix Fix team, alongside additional guests and aviation industry representatives to be announced.

Airworthy is about more than aviation,” said Airworthy director Maria Peek. “It’s about representation, opportunity, and moving the needle on this very important issue. We wanted to tell a story that gives audiences an authentic look at the dedication and determination these students bring to the industry — while shining a light on the urgent need for the next generation of aviation maintenance professionals.”

“We’re proud to bring Airworthy to Orlando and continue showcasing the students and instructors helping shape the future of aviation maintenance,” said Jason Pfaff, Chief Executive Officer of the Aviation Institute of Maintenance. “There’s real power in telling the stories of these students and we hope this documentary inspires the next generation to explore the opportunities available within aviation maintenance and the skilled trades.”
