Home Summary tells you the story of your home in a simple daily digest, which can include details on:

- Energy: See how outdoor weather conditions influence heating and cooling performance, and how ecobee helps optimize comfort while reducing energy use.
- Security: Review important activity, alerts, incidents, and changes to the home’s armed status so you can keep an eye on your family’s safety.
- Solar & Battery: Monitor battery charge, backup readiness, and solar vs. grid energy usage. Receive alerts about any unusual activity and a weather-informed outlook on what to expect, so you stay prepared.
Important security moments become clearer
As part of the Home Summary launch, ecobee is also releasing a set of new AI-powered features for ecobee Smart Security subscribers that make it simpler to identify important moments captured via security cameras and sensors, understand what happened, and quickly find related activity with natural language search.
- Security Activity Summary connects meaningful security activity into fewer but more descriptive notifications, and a simplified Activity Feed, by intelligently grouping related events to tell a more cohesive story (available across ecobee Smart Security Core, Plus and Advanced plans).
- Video Descriptions add context to recorded activity when enabled, helping customers understand what their cameras captured (opt-in AI-powered feature, available to Advanced subscribers).
- Quick Search helps customers more easily find important security moments (opt-in AI-powered feature, available to Advanced subscribers).
Home Summary begins rolling out to ecobee customers through the app today, and new Smart Security features will begin rolling out by the end of the year.
