Lafayette Plumbing Company Installs 40-Gallon Water Heater at Hugs for Harry Dog Rescue

Lafayette, CA – Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning has announced an in-kind donation to Hugs for Harry Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on saving and rehabilitating vulnerable dogs throughout the Bay Area. The company donated and installed a 40-gallon electric water heater at the rescue’s facility, providing infrastructure support that moves the organization closer to operational independence and stronger animal care standards.
The water heater will serve two specific purposes: powering an in-house laundry facility and supplying hot water to a dog washing station. Both additions address essential sanitation and grooming needs for rescue animals, while also helping Hugs for Harry reduce ongoing operational expenses.
Hugs for Harry relocated to a new Lafayette, California facility in January 2026. Although the move offered additional space to support expanding rescue efforts, it introduced a range of infrastructure needs. Plumbing access and hot water availability ranked among the most pressing requirements, yet limited funding made completing the work a challenge before Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning stepped forward.

Hugs for Harry rescues dogs from situations including abandonment, medical neglect, and overcrowded shelters where euthanasia may be a risk. The organization depends on community donations and volunteer involvement to sustain its mission.
