Table Touch, the Restaurant Service Visibility Platform Built by Operators, Selected for Invest Nova Scotia Accelerate Program

“Table Touch automatically tracks staff visits and displays restaurant service activity in real time to help operators improve visibility, consistency, guest experience, and sales.”
Table Touch, a restaurant service visibility platform built by restaurant operators, has been selected for the 2026–2027 Invest Nova Scotia Accelerate cohort. Originally developed by restaurant owners inside their full-service restaurant, Table Touch helps operators understand table activity in real time by automatically tracking staff visits.

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA – May 27, 2026 – Table Touch, a restaurant technology company built by restaurant operators, has been selected as one of twelve companies for the first 2026–2027 cohort of the Accelerate program through Invest Nova Scotia.

The Accelerate program supports high-potential startups as they advance technology development, strengthen commercialization efforts, and prepare for growth.

Table Touch was originally developed by restaurant owners inside their full-service restaurant after they identified a challenge common across the restaurant industry: during busy shifts, it was difficult for staff to consistently understand when tables had last been visited and where service gaps were forming in real time.

Table Touch is a restaurant service visibility system and platform that automatically tracks when staff visit tables using devices placed under tables and carried by staff. The system displays this activity in real time, allowing restaurants to understand how long tables have gone since their last interaction and helping teams identify service opportunities as they happen.

The platform was designed to work automatically in the background without requiring staff to tap screens, scan codes, or manually log visits.

“We originally built Table Touch for our own restaurant because we wanted better visibility during service,” said Ciaran Doherty, Founder of Table Touch. “As operators, we realized many service issues were not caused by poor staff or lack of effort. It was simply difficult to keep track of everything happening across the floor in real time during busy shifts.”

The company plans to use the momentum from Accelerate to continue advancing the platform, including development work related to cloud infrastructure, reporting enhancements, AI-supported operational insights, device management capabilities, and multi-location visibility.

Table Touch has already expanded beyond its original restaurant environment and is now being used by restaurants in multiple markets across North America.

The company believes restaurant operators are increasingly looking for tools that provide real-time visibility into dining room operations to drive sales and improve guest experience, in the same way kitchens rely on operational systems for back-of-house coordination.

“Restaurants already measure many parts of their operation,” added Doherty. “We believe the dining room deserves the same level of visibility.”

The 2026–2027 Accelerate cohort announcement from Invest Nova Scotia highlighted twelve selected startups across the province representing a range of industries and technologies.
