Kayce Collier appointed Chief Financial Officer, Sylmar Water Treatment

Sylmar has appointed Kayce Collier Chief Financial Officer of Sylmar Water Treatment and has selected Sage X3 as its single enterprise system, with deployment underway across its water treatment companies.

Collier leads the water treatment finance organization, encompassing the shared team that handles accounting, financial close, and reporting for operating companies across the country. She partners with President Melinda Sych and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Donaldson as Sylmar Water Treatment builds out its executive team.

Collier brings more than two decades of financial leadership across the water, manufacturing, and life sciences industries. She previously spent six years at Xylem, including as Business CFO for its roughly $1 billion North American water utility business, and has led financial due diligence and integration on acquisitions ranging from startups to public companies. Earlier she led global financial planning and consolidated reporting for IQVIA, a $5 billion organization, and began her career at Arthur Andersen.

“I took this job because of what happens underneath the operating companies. Our businesses can share the back office and still keep their local customers, teams, and brand. Getting that right is most of the work, and it decides whether a general manager spends the week with customers or closing the books,” said Collier.

“Kayce is exactly the kind of leader who makes SWT stronger without making it more complicated. Combined with our new ERP, this is a real step toward the kind of platform we’re building. A company where our employees have what they need, our customers can count on us, and we’re set up to keep growing the right way, for decades,” said Melinda Sych, President of Sylmar Water Treatment.

One enterprise system: Sage X3

As Collier ramps up, Sylmar has selected Sage X3 as its enterprise system and deployment is underway. The system covers finance, manufacturing, order management and project delivery.

As Sylmar seeks to build the leading industrial water treatment company, it is deploying systems and processes that allow the organization to scale, while products and services stay tailored to each company and brand’s customers.

Sylmar’s X3 deployment will handle discrete manufacturing, chemical blending, project-based delivery and service contract management. Sylmar seeks to provide a uniform, best-in-class quality standard across the organization, and Sage X3 will serve as the backbone for this effort.

“We do not treat this as a technology project. X3 is part of our core business infrastructure, and the technology is only the starting point. What matters is how it gets fitted to the way our business’s deliver. As we scale geographically and put manufacturing and chemistry behind that network and behind our channel partners, a system like Sage X3 is not optional,” said Kevin Donaldson, Chief Operating Officer of Sylmar Water Treatment.

Over the past seven years, Sylmar has grown to eight brands serving customers in more than 30 states, and Ms. Collier’s appointment and X3 deployment serve as the next step in its growth and its desire to provide a best-in-class service to customers while Building the Future of Water.
