LUCEDALE, MS – November 04, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
Dixie Glass in Lucedale, a family-owned glass and mirror shop serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1946, is spotlighting its professional auto glass services as drivers across the region contend with road debris, temperature swings, and other common causes of windshield damage. The announcement underscores the company’s focus on vehicle safety at a time when modern vehicles increasingly rely on glass-mounted technology.
The company reports that proper Dixie Glass Lucedale auto glass installation now involves more than replacing a damaged windshield. Many newer vehicles are equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, or ADAS, which use cameras and sensors mounted to the windshield to support features such as lane departure warnings and automatic emergency braking. When glass is replaced, these systems often require recalibration to function correctly. Dixie Glass performs in-house ADAS recalibration as part of its process, helping ensure that safety features operate as intended after a repair or replacement.
The shop provides repair and replacement services for windshields, side windows, and rear glass, along with expert chip repairs that can address minor damage before it spreads. The company also offers mobile service and works directly with insurance providers through direct billing, a step intended to reduce paperwork and delays for drivers navigating a claim.
“Auto glass is a safety component, not just a piece of the vehicle,” said Sean Westmoreland, a representative of Dixie Glass. “A windshield contributes to the structural integrity of the car and, in many newer models, houses the cameras that driver assistance systems depend on. Doing the work correctly, and recalibrating those systems afterward, matters for everyone on the road.”
The company notes that its technicians include Auto Glass Safety Council Certified Technicians, and that Dixie Glass is a Mississippi State Board Certified Contractor. Westmoreland added that the business approaches each job with the same standards regardless of size. “Drivers across the Gulf Coast want reliable service and a clear process,” he said. “That means accurate work, honest guidance on whether a chip can be repaired or the glass needs to be replaced, and a straightforward experience when insurance is involved.”
Beyond automotive work, Dixie Glass serves residential and commercial customers throughout the region. Residential offerings include frameless and semi-frameless shower enclosures, custom-cut mirrors, and replacement of fogged or broken window glass. Commercial services cover storefront windows and doors, curtain wall systems, commercial door repair, and larger contract projects. The company also provides retail and custom glass fabrication, including cut-to-order tabletops, shelving, plexiglass, and specialty mirrors.
Dixie Glass has operated on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for three generations. The company was named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing small businesses in 2020 and 2023, recognized as Glazier Nation Glass Company of the Year for 2024, and received the 2025 WXXV Viewers Choice Award. With a legacy spanning nearly eight decades, Dixie Glass Lucedale continues to provide glass solutions for residents and businesses across the community it has served since 1946.
